Registry Set Updates for June 23, 2011

 

HALF DOLLARS

1) The "Franklin Half Dollars, 1948-1963, Complete (Including Varieties)" set was created.

 

AMERICAN EAGLE AND BUFFALO COINS

-The 2011(S) Struck at San Francisco slot was added to the following sets:

1) Silver Eagles, 1986-Date, Mint State set

2) American Eagles, 1986-Date, Complete set

3) 2011 Eagles set, Mint State

 

DIMES

1) The scores for the 1996-D MS 69 FT adn MS70 FT were updated along with the regular 1996-D MS69 and MS70 in the "Roosevelt Dimes 1965-Date, Circulation Issue" set.

 

The Jefferson Nickels in the Type sets are being reviewed and the update will be posted as soon as they are made live.

The "US Type Set, Including Modern Issues" needs an America the Beautiful Quarter, CLAD spot. It's in the quarter type set, but not the full US type set. =)

Right, but then the MS coins would all be in the clad slot, just like the dimes, halves and dollars, right? They wouldn't get their own third slot just for the quarters. Or will a special MS slot be added for dimes, halves and dollars as well?

The Silver coins were deleted from the "25C ATB (2010-Date) slot in the "US Type Set, Including Modern Issues." The slot has now been renamed 25C ATB CLAD, (2010-Date). The previously created Clad slot has been deleted, therefore there is now only two separate slots for the 25C ATB (2010-Date) coins. First one is the 25C ATB CLAD, (2010-DATE) and the second is the 25C ATB SILVER, (2010-DATE).

I have an idea for some sets that will bring a whole new degree of difficulty and challenge to a lot of collectors and bring two different collectors together in a series. It is called a "Master Set" It is basically a Mint state and Proof state combination.

Example:

Master Set Linclon Pennies 1909-date

Master Set Jefferson nickels 1938 to date

Master Set Roosevelt dimes 1946-date

Master Set Washington quarters 1932-1998

Master Set Kennedy halves 1964-date

Master Set Morgan dollars 1878-1921

ect

 

Remember it wil have Mint and proof coins combined. The challenge will be beyond compaire and will make some ppl lose their mind! lol

Paul, I also like the concept of "Complete" or "Master" sets, though some collectors might argue whether varieties should be included to really be "Complete" or "Master".

 

On another idea, I truly like Alan's "First Year of Issue" (FYOI) custom set.

 

NGC, can we get a first Year of Issue competitive set? (My personal preference would be for a 19th and 20th Century combined set, though these could be separated or included with the mess that is 21st Century (as in... "Are the Territories Quarters First Year or not?")
