  1. Thanks for the info! So, I will presume that these holders are fairly rare? Cheers Bob
  2. I have a few of these Collis restrikes in these holders. Can't find any info on FTGS.

Cheers Bob THE PRIZE: Nice, sealed, brand new, hardcover...
  5. Just kidding. The first one was a one-off. I wouldn't break these out. Cheers Bob
  6. Nonsense. Many have asked if this is possible. I just happened to be the one to do it. Cheers Bob
  7. The souvenir wasn't terribly valuable (around $25) and you wouldn't want to experiment on a Lucite paperweight with a nice UNC inside, would you? Cheers Bob
  8. Very simple. I put it in the chest freezer overnight. Took it out the following afternoon. Put it in a bench vise with the jaws at the lower edge of the coin, took a BP hammer, and started swinging...VOILA! Shattered the Lucite and the coin came away clean. I guess you could say, Morgan FREED, man! Cheers Bob
  9. Donate them to your local school for a geography class (do they still teach that?). Or a social studies class where they can learn about the people on the coins. Or make up little baggies to hand out for Halloween 👻.
  10. Nope. The 42/41 is extremely obvious. Still, free silver! Great find! Cheers Bob
  11. The obverse was also used for the 1960 Saint-Gaudens commemorative medal. 75mm
  12. World's Columbian Exposition Award Medal Saint-Gaudens/Barber with original aluminum case. As I understand it, the case is rare and the insert card is even rarer. Most of the cases were lost, destroyed, or simply tossed out. The insert card from Scovill was almost always thrown away or dried up and fell to pieces. At least this is what was related to me by a couple of serious medal collectors. I'm pretty new to medals (less than a couple of months) and this is only my third acquisition.
