  1. Sorry, I thought this post was for the love of copper and did not know it was for photos only. My bad. I'll remove it. Jim
  2. Picked this up today and truly love the color, C-2. Now I have a couple too many. Jim
  3. If these Jeffs don't belong in the OP's post, sorry. Jim
  4. Want to thank you, Roger, for all your hard work and the information you have made available to us, which we may not have had access to without your efforts. Jim
  5. I liked this coin better as a replacement for my album 1808 Draped Bust Half Cent than the one I previously listed. I like this coin a lot better, but has taken me longer than I thought to get it and photograph it. Thanks for your patience. Jim
  6. Would love to meet you there. Many would be for the 1st time. Jim
  7. Nice. Have not seen this one before. Great condition. Jim
  8. Glad you "rejoined", as I did the same recently. Hopefully, more will come. Jim
  9. A replacement for my 1808 C-3, which is far lower grade but better fits my collection. Jim
  10. Here are a couple of coppers, 1803 Kettle Token and 1863 Trade and Commerce Token(in for a soak) for your viewing pleasure or displeasure. Jim
  11. While I would love to own this coin, I cannot gtg to be above FR02. Below are Photogrades sample of a FR02 Wreath cent. JMO Jim
  12. Roger, I have found(for no arguable reason) that low quality EVOO works better than the higher quality name brand EVOO. Another "Just My Opinion" but nonetheless I have tried both many times and it seems the lower quality is stronger and works better and faster than the higher quality. Have been told that is ridiculous by chemists and the like ATS, but still my opinion. Thanks, Jim
  13. No, I never use a toothpick, rose thorn or any other "device" to remove debris as I wish it to come off naturally and 'usually' less likely to present hidden damage underneath. Just an opinion, but with many years of experience(good or bad) Jim
  14. I don't mean to intend on dissing my reputability stature, but what are the 3 "grade-scarce" coins you seek? Jim
  15. I was rather pleased with the results of this 3 month soak. I have used it quite often for PVC copper with good results, but never for corrosion and especially to bring back the copper color. Coin is still just a small date broken L C-1 with a 15% die rotation, but I liked the strike and now the coin has become somewhat presentable. Not sure if their is a rim ding or a cud, but most likely a rim ding. Thought I would share the power of EVOO for a cleansing tool. Jim
  16. On type 1 Buff's with the granite style chiseled look, luster sometimes is not shown in some photos. I bought this 1913 t1 Buff from Angel Dee a few years ago and this was his photo of the coin an MS66. Jim
  17. I have bought and sold coin books for 20 years and maintain a fairly large inventory of books that I constantly read and reread. For the last several years I have been attempting to become proficient in the collecting of early cents and half cents. I have over a dozen books in that regard and hardly a day goes by that I do not read one. My Dr. Manley copy of half cent die state book is falling apart, as much to faulty glueing as to use, which it has most certainly been used. I made the mistake many years ago of only reading the portion of the books that I was interested in at that time and did not truly become proficient in the series, but after reading and studying Rick Snow's IHC Attribution Guide books it became clear of what I was missing. I then returned and reread the books I had skipped thru and benefitted greatly from the deed. I hope others will take up reading regarding our hobby and reap the benefits that follow. Jim
  18. James, you shouldn't have two 105 year old coins that look that good. Absolutely gorgeous, both coins and it certainly does appear they came from the same album. Are the other coins from the album toned as attractively? Wow. Jim
  19. A forum member ats got me interested in these recently so I picked up the dates of the war years. I thought them interesting. Hope they belong in this forum. Jim
