Good evening everyone, first of all thank you for the kind words and well wishes on the other post inquiring about my lack of presence on here. Things are going quite well actually and today I attended a local auction where I was able to aquire several coins that were needed to complete some of my Dad's collections. The 1909 S VDB Lincoln Cent completes our Lincoln set and the 1921 Mercury brings me one coin away from completing that set. I was also able to introduce a new special friend in my life to the world of coin collecting which with the acquisition of these coins today made it a special day. I will post more of the other new coins from today as I image them. The VDB I had to angle the reverse so that the VDB was clear.

That is a nice looking Draped Bust Quarter, congratulations.
Here are images of the 1855 Liberty Seated Quarter my Mom found in my Dad's desk last week. If held just right it has some nice blue hues.

Heck I'm on my blackberry which can be slow sownloading images. I keep scrolling thinking that something was wrong with the site, get to the end and realize it is a slew of separate coins. Nice group there James.

Well folks, haven't posted in awhile looks like a lot of nice acquisitions are being obtained and shared. Nice coins everyone. I have one not in hand yet but will provide an image later this week. As some of you may recall my father's desk has produced a few surprises over the last several months. My Mother called the other day to tell me she found another coin at the back of a drawer that we had not found previously. It is an 1855 Seated Liberty Quarter. I could not really tell from the description from her of its true condition. I am very anxious to receive and see. Was in a capitol plastics single holder.

I am certainly not even close to an expert on Barber Dimes, in fact much the opposite. But I have seen reference to Overdates on "proof" 1908 Barber Dimes.

Here's one that was in one of our "miscellanceous" marked boxes I have been going through.

A while back I sent a coin to a fellow member that was needing it for one of his sets. Not an expensive coin and as I had no interest in the series, I did not want anything in return, just a token of friendship basically.
Well wouldn't you know it, as another example of the integrity and professionalism of a fellow member here, he dis-obeyed my request and sent me this coin to show his appreciation.
Nice to be part of such a group of fellow collectors.
Thanks for the coin (Bobby) (thumbs u

Welcome to the forums JCM. Looks like three good new pick ups there. I like early commemoratives a lot. My current Stone Mountain is "cleaned" so I am looking for one as well.

Very nice Morgan, especially for a freebie. Here is a 1916 S Walking LIberty Half I picked up at a recent auction very cheap. Has some rim damage but the price was good.
