    Coin edit page
I finally got a couple of new coins to add to my sets and everything changed! I like being able to add NGC pictures but when I tried to add the coin details, when and how much I paid  for the coin I could not find the link. The link to edit next to the pictures is just for the description. I tried calling NGC buy they were backlogged. Any information would be helpful.

Low pop nickel just found a new home!
Just picked up a nice 1947-D Nickel with 5 full steps off Ebay! Nice strike with smooth surfaces and a welcome addition to the now #10 set!

Finding the missing eagles is a challenging task to say the least! Can anyone help!!!!!!!!!!
I thought my set was starting to come together until I added it to the registry. Boy was I wrong! I am still filling the empty slots but it sure seems slow some times. I have quite a few extra 69 & 70's that I would be willing to trade for the ones I need if anyone is interested.

    ANACS & ICG??NO WAY!
I vote B on leaving ANACS & ICG out.
Mainly because the quality of coin is not there. Out of all the ICG coins I have had, only 1 do I thank would cross over to the same MS70 grade. Are we just interested in a holder with a grade or a coin that matches the grade?????If I pay for a coin that is graded an MS70 then I should expect nothing less than a MS70 coin. If I was just after points then I would take my 69"s and break them out of NGC holders and send them in to ANACS or ICG and most times come back with a 70. If you let them into the registry then later on someone will be pushing for PCI , and the rest out there that take your money just to give you a coin in a holder that doesn't mean anything.
A Chevrolet name plate on a VW doesn't make the VW a Chevrolet any more than a MS70 in a ICG holder make it a MS70.

    TIME TO CUT THE CORD!
Just a question for NGC. Since the Gold Buffalos have become a mint production coin like the Gold Eagles, When will they be totally on their own and taken off the Gold Eagle registry?

    Thank you namvette68!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The last word I received from the mint is that the new mailing date for my UHR was going to be 4/26/09 SO imagine my surprise when I went to the post office this morning and there the Beauty was. I examined it real closely, showed it to my wife and her remarks were "Now how much did WE pay for that?"I let it fly, packaged it up and sent it off th NGC for grading and fingers crossed for the top MS70 grade. It might even make it in time for the early release designation. Anyway with all the talk about grading services I figured I would pass a few if my examples along. I sent in the following graded by ICG. I know but it was the first week they were in business so decided to give them a try with my Liberty nickel Proofs. When sent to NGC for cross over I was pleasently surprised 1896 64 came back a Cameo, 1898 65 came back Cameo, 1903-65 came back a 66 Cameo, 1904-63 made 64, 1905 64 made 65, 1919 64 made 65, 1912-D AU58 made MS61, and a 1926-S Buffalo F-12 came back a whopping XF40! Also had a PCI 65 Walking liberty half come back a NGC66 There were 3 that graded less, 1883 N/C from 66 to 65, 1911 from 65 to 64 and 1912 from 66 to 65. Over all not bad. So even if it is in another slab BUY THE COIN NOT THE HOLDER! Now it is nail biting time waiting to see how the coins sent off today will fair. Ain't it GREAT to be a collector and enjoy a hobby like ours.
Happy collecting and God Bless. John 3:16

What if the points were asigned by rarity????
Being a collector for over 50 years, NOT a dealer, I have come to appreciate what it takes to build a high grade set in ANY denomination. There will always be those few coins that make completing a set a challenge to locate and acquire at a "affordable" price. In most cases the "KEYS" are just that and most time NOT affordable but a must have to have the complete set. I like many think coin collecting can be an addiction because when you start getting close to completing the set alot of times we tend to through all caution to the wind to acquire that particular coin.
I believe if you are in the regestry for the points you are missing the joy of building a set. I have coins that will probably not be worth what it costs to get slabbed but they were another piece of the set puzzle needed to complete my set.
So what about having the point system srt up on population? I don't understand how a 1953 Jefferson Nickel MS67 with a population of 6 should have the low point value that it does compared to a 2011 1/10 oz gold eagle but it doesn't stop me from trying to build a MS67 set of nickels. Take the GOLD EAGLES for example. The points were just "adjusted" and bu the points I moved up 30 spots in the regestry. Most jumped up substantually but the lowest mintage 1/2 Oz, 1991 didn't gain a single point and not sure why.
Some of my sets are spin offs from putting together mint sets but I do have my "favorites" like the Jefferson Nickels anad also a modern set the Gold Eagles in MS70. Both sets are a challenge but the challenge is part of collecting. I will spend hours just looking at the pictures of coins in others sets and the can really appreciate the amount of time money and effort ot takes to build some of the sets that are out there
Keep up the good work and happy collecting to you all.
    God bless you all!

    BOXES FOR TRADE
I have 3 extra boxes of the 1911-D lincolns that I would be willing to trade for P mint cents, 1911 or earlier.
Let me know if you are interested.
    Have a GREAT day,
    Jerry
