  1. Welcome to the Chat Board This is the forum for registered sets, I have asked that it be moved to the Newbie Forum As far as your coin goes, it is just damage and worth 10 cents. In the future, please crop and rotate your photos, this will help increase the size and get rid of the background.
  2. Nice examples of each. You have quite a job ahead of you to obtain an example of each.
  3. That “halo” is the result of Progressive Indirect Die Transfer, also known as Ghosting.
  4. Unless a coin has a value of at least $200.00, it is not worth the $65.00 or so to get graded. Usuallly only high grade or rarer coins get graded unless you have a personal reason. Out of curiosity, what is it with “newbies” that they want to get regular business strikes graded? Please don’t say you saw it on YouTube that they are valuable.
  5. Looks like there is glue or a like substanse spilled on the Obverse. Try soaking it in acetone for 24 hrs and see if comes off
  6. Not sure how you obtained this Morgan, but because of the value, it is also heavily counterfeited. As suggested by previous members, post a clear photo of both sides and we can start from there.
  7. Welcome to the forum. An error can only occur during the striking of the coin. Seeing those marks could not have happened at that time, then it is damage.
  8. Not much to go by but I would say that is a Variety 2. I remember reading on another site that there were 25% of Variety 1 and 75% of Variety 2 minted in 1939
  9. The mint run their coin presses at high speed and quantity gives priority over quality. Any errors, as they are usually a one off, would not probably be noticed until the coins were bagged and send out for distribution.
  10. If it shows reeding, it can’t be a Broadstruck. Not an error or a dryer coin, just worn and worth it’s weight in silver.
  11. It is a Large Date. You are wasting your time if you are looking for a 1982 copper Small Date.
  12. Nothing there that indicates why it should be worth more than 5 cents. It has some worthless Machine Doubling, but that is all. Also do not use screen shots, They are too pixilated to see small detail.
  13. Welcome Please post each coin on it’s own thread with a clear picture of both sides plus a closeup of your area of concern. It gets confusing with more than one coin per thread. Also FYI, a Doubled Die is a variety, not an error. There is a big difference between the two.
  14. Welcome to the forum That is a one look counterfeit. All you have to do is compare your photo with a genuine photo to easily see the differences.
  15. A kitchen scale is useless for weighing cins, you need an accurate weight to at least two decimal points to be of any help.
  16. What is the weight to two decimal points?
  17. Welcome to the Forum That is not an error or struck on the wrong planchet, it is what is known as a “Texas Cent”. It has been pounded between two pieces of leather which has removed the copper and has expanded the zinc core. We see these periodically on the forum. There is no value to it except as a curiosity piece. Do not waste your time taking it to a coin dealer. FYI, it couldn’t be a wrong planchet as it would be too large to fit in a 1 cent collar.
  18. No, you are vprobably right. I did not realise the Lira was was demonetized so it probably worthless. At least the Canadian Dollar is still worth a Dollar Canadian.
  19. Yes it is. A Doubled Die is on the striking die so all coins struck frrom that die would show Doubling Machine Doubling is a mechanical issue when the coin wa struck so it would only show on coins struck until the issue was corrected so it is possible to have both.
  20. Welcome to the Forum First, this is forum for buying and selling coins. You should have posted this in the “Newbie “ Forum. As far as your coins go, the Italian coin is worth 500 Lira and the Canadian is worth 1 dollar Canadian. Both are only worth face value. Why did you think they were worth more?
  21. Welcome to the forum Not a DDO, you can’t have Die Doubling showing on both sides of the coin. Looks like it is Machine Doubling
