About Me

Greetings Collectors,

I started collecting coins in the third grade. First significant coin was gifted to me by my uncle. 1810 over 9 Classic Head large cent.
He found it on the railroad tracks in southeast GA.
(now slabbed in an NGC details graded slab due to minor corrosion)

Grandparents had a small dept store in north Louisiana and I was allowed to go through the change at the end of the day while I was in town for our family’s semi annual trips.

This was the mid 1960’s and silver was still very prevalent in change. Clad had not started and silver dollars and half dollars, among the other silver denominations were everywhere. I could only afford the nickels dimes and pennies. And very few of the dimes.

Collected pretty much through high school and then stepped away until the 1990’s.
Mercury dimes, Franklin halves, Walking Liberty halves just a few of my favorites. And started buying gold at that time. First slabbed gold coin was a 1904-P $20 double eagle. $410 in MS-63 purchased in 1995 from Blanchard and Company out of New Orleans. Still have it. Along with just about everything else I’ve bought down through the years.

My interest lies now in just a few series. $10 Liberty Eagles, All other Liberty gold to a lesser degree. And now I’ve narrowed this focus to $10 gold from the New Orleans mint.

Still love my Franklin halves in MS. And OGH Mercury dimes. Both in a lesser degree than the gold. Heck, it’s all great!

I look forward to getting back in the fellowship here with all of you. This is an update as of 11/11/20

Best,

Kerry
