  2. Well as you have done you can post them for sale here. But as you probably know by now this is a very small forum so it can be difficult to find a buyer. You can sell on Ebay, and there are also facebook coin groups where you can sell coins to other collectors. But without a doubt the fastest and easiest way to sell is to sell to a coin dealer in person either at a coin show or that the dealers shop. NGC has a list of NGC authorized dealers on the main NGC site, but if there is nobody close to you except for the pawn shop you mentioned then your choices are somewhat limited.
  3. Thanks a lot. I'll take a look. Google translator will help, the main thing is I already know where to look. thanks again .
  4. Today
  5. Thank you so much for the info well I have 3 bison coins and that one and I know 100% they are real what would be the best way to go about selling them. I really don’t trust the local pawn shop and would rather have someone that enjoys collecting coins to have them
  6. 🐓: I don't know, Q. Out of all the people you chose to send my kid brother to, why him? If it'd've been me, I would have had enough presence of mind -- if it were personal -- to simply say, You wouldn't understand. And drop it. Q.A.: There is a disconnect here but there are also mitigating health issues. My closest friends tell me if I don't do more to block my wife's free access to OTC sleep meds, I will wind up in stir. Now with Kurt, there seems to be an awful lot of defensiveness, hostile language, misplaced anger and a general lack of gratitude. The Topic, I thought, was pretty straight-forward. I guess I just don't get it. 🐓: Did you read what the doctor wrote about your wife? Involuntary tremors due to overmedication. You can't even find the meds, because you've forgotten where you've hidden them all. It's like musical meds. Now if you push Kurt on this nonsense, suppose something happens? 🐓 : What's the worse that can happen? Q.A.: Sound of gavel banging down, followed by... L I F E ! P.S. Now I understand why you asked, "Are you sure you want to do this?" I do, but knowing you now as well as I do, I can easily understand why you weren't. Sorry, I bothered. I do not believe I deserved that kind of a response -- not the first on a public forum. (To Moderation: a bit personal. May be taken down as unsuitable under any topic.)
  7. What you have is a gold Maple Leaf, often just referred to as a Maple Leaf. It is a solid ounce of gold produced by the Canadian mint and considered bullion coins just like the US mint $50 Bison coin you previously posted about and have put up for sale in the coin marketplace. As a general rule these trade/sell very close to gold spot and as I type this gold is at $2,310 an ounce so you should expect to be able to sell it for $2,250 or perhaps a bit more. The price changes practically every second so it could vary some depending on when and to whom you sell. You can try and sell it here by posting this in the coin marketplace section of the forum as you have done with your $50 Bison coin, however, you are new and unless you can provide some references to prove that you are legit you might have a tough time selling. Plus then you have to ship and insure the coin so that it arrives to the buyer safely and that both you and the buyer are protected if any shipping snaffu were to occur, all that can be a hassle for some people. You can also take it to a coin shop in your area and sell it to them in person, you will likely be offered slightly less than the number I quoted above as the dealer needs to have some room to mark the coin up from his buy price. The upside is you will avoid all the hassles of selling/shipping on the internet.
  8. Thank you for the example. My simple mind likes pretty pictures to to aid in the illustration of clarification.
  9. Yup. Dealers in the Kirk Kelly network of dealerships regularly had so-called mint state Coq Marianne in their monthly mail order flyers a few decades ago. Of course, they were not necessarily really high grades. The frustrating thing is that there are almost definitely more “registry worthy” pieces out there, but they are “trapped” in countries in which there is no widely recognized difference between MS65 and MS70. Yes, our fascination with single points and pluses and stars is pretty uniquely an American fetish.
  10. It’s a Canadian coin. My grandma passed away and left me lots of bison and other coins. What would it be worth ? Is anyone interested in buying? I am new to the coin collection
  11. Tribute pieces, tourist pieces, replicas. See often, our Newbie discussion section. One example is the so-called “California Fractional” pieces that have a bear on them. Since there never was a true fractional with a bear on it, how can these pieces be considered counterfeits? No, they are inauthentic.

  13. I am intrigued, inauthentic just seems inappropriate as a descriptor for coins. VKurtB, would you have an example in mind?
  14. All my characterizations are strictly my own, and I stand by them. I act with a complete LACK OF CONCERN what you, or anyone else here (and I do mean ANYONE) thinks of my opinions.
  15. Welcome to the NGC chat board. I don't know Russian, but I hope you can translate this. I assume that you want to learn how to submit coins to NGC for third-party grading. Please review the following pages on the NGC website: How to Submit | NGC (ngccoin.com) Coins We Grade | NGC Coin Grading Polices | NGC NGC Services and Fees | NGC (ngccoin.com) My Submissions | Account | NGC (ngccoin.com) You should have sufficient knowledge about your coins to be able to determine that they are worth the cost of third-party grading. Many coins aren't worth it. You should also be able to fill out the submission forms properly. If you don't have this knowledge or ability, you should consider consulting with and perhaps submitting through an NGC member dealer. See Find Coin Shops & Dealers | Coin Dealer Locator | NGC (ngccoin.com)
  16. I know I have said this before but it bears repeating. Some judges keep a tight rein on courtroom proceedings (one even "ordering" a deputy USM go fetch a sport coat for a defendant who appeared before him in jail garb.) When one witness embarked on a scenic tour whilst on the stand, the jusge, unprompted, directed the AUSA to instruct his witness to be more responsive. As regarding our Grand Master, it may cost me more than I am willing to lose, but I am seriously entertaining the thought of suggesting your ongoing Hatfields and McCoys sniping was approved by top NGC management to keep things interesting on the Forum. The "crimes" you have cited as having been committed are, if they even rise to that level, little more than miscellaneous differences of opinion which all are entitled to. (Posted at Moderation's discretion.)
  17. C'mon, @Captain Murder ! We have tread this ground before. I even suggested you change your User Name to give youself a fighting chance at a come-back, and what do you do? Go back to selling, or attempting to sell your wares -- on the very same Forum you were asked not to! The playground for buying and selling coins and related tchotchkes is COIN MARKETPLACE. It is listed right alongside all the other NHC Forums.
  18. Inauthentic comprises a larger number of faults than does counterfeit, DESPITE the likelihood that Roger uses them interchangeably. Roger misuses many words.
  19. I only have a fifty-year affiliation with the hobby which, admittedly, is a lot less than those who boast of attending President William McKinley's inauguration. If that be the case, would any member more erudite on such matters, and so disposed, volunteer what they feel may be the defining distinction between a coin deemed to be inauthentic which to me seems to be a more polite, less judgmental way of dismissing a coin as being a counterfeit.
  20. I am sorry. I don’t know what topic to write in. the moderator can move it to the right one. I have a question, who can help, I want to send coins for weakening, but I don’t know where to start. how to submit documents, how to send and so on. If there is a Russian speaker, please respond. I don’t speak English yet, only with Slavarem. I live in America.I will be very grateful for your help. gennadii57@mai.ru
  21. #1) It’s ANACS (modern ANACS), so the grade of 70 doesn’t mean a darned thing. #2) it’s part of a bulk grading, which also reduces its value. #3) Even if it were done by NGC or P¢ğ$, and not a third tier grader, the grade of 70 is pedestrian. And it’s ANACS for crying out loud. #4) Stop spamming.
  22. British Petroleum [BP] ain't got a da-ned thing to do with it! Revisit the figures I provided upthread. Gold Rooster melt, then, was $429.82. [Spot gold was $2302.02.] The gold bullion dealer with the least expensive gold roosters was APMEX: $445., exclusive of dealer premium and sales taxes, where applicable. The gold bullion dealer with the most expensive gold roosters was Money Metals Exchange: $488., exclusive of dealer premium and sales taxes, where applicable. That was then, yesterday. Today is today, and tomorrow, may be further up or down. One thing I have to give @zadok credit for was opening my eyes up to the fact that F20FR GR are bullion. Of course, gold spot price is less of a consideration the higher you go up the Mint State scale. The owners of the finest examples, I believe it safe to say, do not fret over fluctuations.
  23. First this section of the forum is questions/concerns about the NGC registry, general questions should be posted in the US/world coins or newbie sections. Second you have not provided any photos so it's not possible to answer your question.
