from this extreme heat
Greetings everyone. Well, if you have been in the midwest like me you know about the extreme heat we have been having. I have not even looked at a coin for a week. A/C has been running 24/7. Man, it has gotta break soon (heat) (we can only hope) Today with the heat index it was 115 here in central IL.
Anyway hope everyone is staying cool.
I will leave you with our forecast for tomorrow from a local TV station. This is finally a bit too much even for me
T
or should I say "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" to NCS
Just sent off 2 more Franklins for conservation to NCS again. Hoping for the same great results and maybe something extra.
I have attached a pre-photo of the obverses showing how mucked up they are. (notice the black rim area's and also in the field on one and overall haze on both) When they return, will post again with before and after pics for all to see.

now is the time to get a few
Just went to SilverTowne web site to check their price on 1 oz silver bars and just placed an order at $29.40/bar. I haven't seen under $30.00 in a long time. So if you want to add to your bullion or just start collecting some silver now is the time....

back to NGC
Greetings one and all
Received two new coins today. First was my latest addition to my Kennedy collection. A chilling frosted clad Mr. Kennedy that looks fantastic and secondly another presidential addition to my Lincoln shield cents my 2012 Mr. Lincoln. If you notice,
Mr. Lincoln is mounted backwards, what NGC calls a mechanical error. I called NGC and they will take care of it naturally.
Side Note: The 2012 Lincoln Shield seems to be a hard coin to find in PF70UC wh
When you're in this long enough we all get that feeling....
After reading Kamakazy's journal about not having the desire or drive anymore, I'm sure we all can relate to it to some degree if you have been in this long enough. Sometimes it is best to just take a long break and then come back to it, sometimes maybe if you rethink your sets and sell some to start some new sets, another thought would be what you collect sometimes one needs to focus on another form of collecting and once in a blue
Nice surprise today
Came to the CS today and noticed I gain over 1600 points. Upon further checking, NGC adjusted the points on the SMS Kennedy's today, and it was overdue for this adjustment.
First time and I was jamming
Greetings everyone;
Well, I submitted my first coin to NCS for conservation and then on to NGC for grading. Since it was my first time dealing with NCS I went in with hopes of salvaging something better than what I was submitting. Oh my was the first words out of my mouth when the coin arrived today and I had my first look at their work.
I have attached a before and after photo for all to see but even the before photo doesn't really show how bad this coin
Jefferson and Lincolns
Greetings all
As before I like to let everyone here know before I list on the bay some great deals I am offering.
Have an 82 84 and 86 Jefferson and Lincoln cents, shields and 2009 Life of Lincoln cents. All coins are graded by NGC. Am posting on the Money Market Place board as well. Get in touch with me if interested ASAP.
Making great deals NOW
but far from finished
Greetings my fellow collectors;
Today I filled the last open slot I had for my Franklin Proof set. It is now complete, 100%.
I completed this set from all raw coins and submitted to NGC for grading. Although it is complete now, it is far from done as there are numerous slots I am in the process of upgrading. In fact as I type this, I have more raw Franklins I recently purchased on their way to me now. This was my "goal" though for this Franklin set. To do
25th Anniversary SAE prices have arrived
The initial prices are now posted in everyone's sets

2 Upgrades to my Franklin Collection
Greetings once again my brethren and sisters of the round;
Today I upgraded 2 of my Franklin Proofs. The 1958 and 1959.
The 1959 is a "Key Date" in the Franklin Proof series with less than 1% of total mintage exhibiting enough cameo contrast on both obverse and reverse to warrant a cameo designation. I was lucky enough to land a PF67CAM.
I wish everyone great luck in their search for what they seek.

to all who wrote and helped
Just wanted to say to all who reached out to WKF. I have heard from many of you and to let you know that Kerry called and was so appreciative and wanted to convey to all who cared enough to send an e-mail etc. how much you touched him. I'm sure Kerry will thank you in his own way but until he reactivates his membership he did want me to pass that along.
Well done all, well done !!!!!!

since I have upgraded a Kennedy
Today I upgraded a 1980 Kennedy to PF70UC. I won the coin at the on line auction Heritage Auctions. This was the first time I had purchased from them. It is always nice to come back to your sets and revisit and upgrade when you can.
Best of luck to everyone on filling those slots

is a CAC sticker really anything more than "another label"
Over the course of the last few months we have discussed all the various labels one can acquire for a particular coin. Although we have discussed this subject briefly in the distant past I thought I would open it up to see if new opinions have been formed or old ones changed. The subject I am talking about is the CAC sticker. Does it really add any value to a particular coin in the eyes of the grassroots collector ?
In my opin
Thank you NGC
Just did a test posting and looks like it's all fixed and you can go back to writing your journals as before with comma's and all.
thanks NGC for tracking it down and getting it fixed

Since he didnt post to chats as well to respond
Just about everything you stated I totally disagree with. Markets are up, employment is down, Congress will not have anything to do with whoever takes office next and its obvious you have not been watching the auctions as almost every top pop I have seen has gone for premium dollars.
And youre citing one source ONLY as the sole voice of what the real skinny is ???

Best price I have found
Greetings;
Just wanted to pass along some info to those that collect Mint State ASE. If you are looking to buy an NGC graded slab Paradise Mint is having a great sale now. You can buy MS70 graded Eagles for 75 - 76 dollars (free shipping) most labels are available.
Other sites I have searched are in the 90 dollar range.
Just a heads-up to my fellow collectors.
Best to all

Lets make a deal
Greetings fellow collectors. I have just listed a number of graded coins on the marketplace board I am selling. I wanted to give my fellow collectors a chance on them before listing them on E-Bay on Monday. I will make you a great deal that is fair so take a look and make me an offer. You can contact me as stated in the listing.
Thanks for looking.

Is this seller for real using this photo
Ran across this auction tonight and could do nothing but laugh. Seller is selling ONLY one coin. Can you guess which one it is ?? You should see his other auctions for raw single coins !!!!

this is a temporary workaround till NGC finds a permanent solution
I have finally figured out why when we post a journal and we want to have it discuss on chat board it does not give us the option on a majority of journals but it seems to work on a few.
When you check Use Message boards login and you enter your info to have your journal be able to be discussed on chat board it will work IF
in the TITLE, OR the TEASER, OR in the BODY you DO NOT have ANY APOSTROPHE WORDS at all. Quotation
Tried but it failed
Tried to add the feature on my last journal "Discuss on Chat Boards" but it didn't work again. Hopefully they get it figured out soon. Will try with this journal one more time.
I see this all the time
When an auction starts (particularly on E-Bay) and it runs oh say 7 days. Also say it starts out at $.99 and there are always someone who thinks they are going to actually get a $200.00 coin for under $10.00 so they bid it up to $10.00 Then John Q comes along and he bids it up to $100.00 on the first day, now comes the people who run up the price of the coin till it is beyond FMV. They bid it up to $200.00 on day 2. So day 5 comes along and someone who has maybe 25
With all the rubarb going on with PCGS
I am not really impacted by the recent rubarb going on with NGC removing PCGS graded coins from world sets since I do not collect them but now that most of the knee-jerk responses, and thought out responses have subsided to an extent I believe I have an idea that might satisfy both sides (but then again it may not, ) I suggest that all of the people involved contact NGC and suggest that NGC offer a cross-over from PCGS to NGC slabs for say a flat rate of
