About this journal

World Coin News 12 issues $25.99, Coin World - Weekly News Resourse 52 issues $69.99, Coin World 12 issues $24.99.  Three publications.  I am wondering which is the better of the three to subscribe to.  They all have strengths from what I can get from the few reviews listed for them on Amazon.  As well as some grips for issues delivered on time or at all.  I currently subscribe to Numismatic News for many years and issues delivered is always a problem I think because they are sent via dead last shipping.  I however hate online subscriptions, because after a day on the computer, the last thing I want to do when I sit in my favorite chair in the evening to relax is grab the tablet to read a magazine.  Nothing is better than picking up an actual piece of journalism during a commercial when watching the tube and reading an article.  I can put it down and pick it up again at the next commercial.  Any who, thoughts on the three publications would be appreciated.  As always, thanks.  PS  Anyone have the PF and MS70 of the Boys Town in brown label for sale?

NO SURPRISES HERE!

NGC Members are friends Back at the end of February, a fellow member had decided to sell off and reduce his collection. I knew that he had a rare set he aquired that I was very interested in. I contacted him and we agreed on a price and to make it short, he decide not to sell off, but if he did the set was mine. Well a couple of weeks ago I got an email asking if I still wanted the set as he was definitly calling it quits. Of course I said I still wanted it, and we made the purchase arran

NEW TO MY INSANE COLLECTION

I DONT'T THINK IT WILL STOP. Just thought I would post my latest to my collection and to share it with you all here today. I am coming off a terrible couple of weeks, my brother died and his services were Friday. I say this, because he was a highly decorated Vietnam veteran, and myself being a disabled Vietnam era veteran, I pay some homage to him to let everyone know, I am and always be very proud of him. Need help/advise

2011 Silver Eagles I have some silver eagles in pcgs in both ms69 and 70. Also they are represented by each of the mints. They all have milk spots to varying degree. None of my NGC coins have this and they also are from different mints. Plus, I guess this is why I have been collecting NGC. The quality of the PCGS is terrible. One ms70 has scratches around it like pennies have when the first one comes out of a roll from the rolling machine. Also some have nicks and scratches. So why the

NEED HELP AGAIN

VIEW THESE COINS Hi, just bought these coins today. They are awfully soiled, it even comes off on your hands. The Peace dollar with the "X" on it is scotch tape, it is a very nice coin if I can get the tape residue off, plus on the other side is mold like spots. The Morgans are just grimmy, and like I said it comes off in your hands. How can I spruce them up abit? The one Morgan and one Peace are very nice, in fact the one Morgan still has the sheen/luster of a uncirculated coin, and al

ERROR COIN? I was going through my cents again and came accross this 1975 D Lincoln. It appears to have 3 cracks in the obverse the most prominent accross the scalp line the second accross the bridge of the nose the third just nearly accross the middle of the chin. They all appear to start at the top right at theouter lip of the coin going down and to the left. The top one almost makes it accross the coin, the other two alittle less so with each one. The reverse does not show any of this,

NATIONAL PARKS QUARTERS

Ceremony day rolls Has anyone been to the ceremonies for the National Parks quarters. If so, are the rolls of quarters they sell for face at the ceremonies the collector rolls from the mint or are they just regular rolls anyone can get at the banks the same day? Appreciate it folks To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.

MAYBE A NEW CENT FIND

A NEW WIDE AM? This is a reverse of a 2004D Lincoln cent. Looks like a wide AM. I say 2004D because the strike on the obverse is very weak and I can barely make out the D with a 20X glass. Thoughts please. I have another one for tomorrow a 1983D 1/4. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.

mANY STRANGE THINGS

IT IS VERY INTERESTING INDEED Going through some of my Lincoln Memorial rolls and found 4 very weird ones I hope I can get the pics uploaded at one time. One is full of pits, 1976 on the reverse, a 2008 that is full of what looks like bumps or bubbles, my favorite a mint green 1978 D, and a 1984 D missing some of it. Just stuff I thought may be interesting to show, and maybe get some comments or other pics of weird ones. Thanks for looking. Oh yes, I am finally seeing some 2009s and alot o

Magazines worth their while?

World Coins, 12 issues $25.99   Coin World - Weekly News Resources 52 issues $69.99.  Coin World-Monthly 12 issues $24.99.  Thinking about subscribing.  Reviews in Amazon nor really helpful.  Wondering about your thoughts on any of these.  Seems biggest gripe on them all is delivery problems.  Not much on content tho.  Thoughts would be much appreciated.  PS  anyone have the Boys Town Commem in PF70 and MS70 brown label for sale?

Lucky

key aquirement Hello fellow NGCer's. Call me lucky or maybe I was due for something good to happen. I got confirmation on a ms69/pf69 25th anniv. ngc certified set, and at a shockingly good price. But that's not all, they through in a ms70/pf70 set as well but at regular price. This will help tremendously toward my goal of achieving a complete set of ms69 and ms70 holders with the different labels. I know many of you scoff at me for this, but 10 or 15 yrs from now maybe my handing this do

Love this label

God bless America Just added another Silver Eagle MS70 to my custom collection. I thinks it is the nicest label of all the holders. Ok Ok I give. It is a 2011 SAE MS70 Struck at San Francisco Mint with the Flag Label. Actually it is a label everyone is probably familiar with. I am still waiting to get the three I was supposed to get over a month ago. Fustrating as it is I am thrilled to add this one, till they come out with another before the end of the year. I also will not stop until

Lincoln cent find???

What have I got? I found this interesting 1992D cent while looking for the "close AM'. Looks like a DDO on the 1992D. Any thoughts out there? Plus I may have another interesting on I'll put up next. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.

Latest find

Stumbled accross it. Well, here is another to add to my MS70 custom sets. This is in addition to the previous two brown ones. I have stumbled onto so exciting things lately. Has anyone gotten some of those double-dye fat numbered Silver Eagles from the 25th Anniversary set? They are really different. I wonder if they will classify them as a true error coin? Here is a pic of my latest. No need for you S to reply, I know enough of how you feel about me. To see old comments for this J

HAPPY HOLIDAYS Congrates to KAMAKAZY on your set. Yes I am jealous, And I am listening to my ears buzzing now Seth. To cheer you all up there is a Christmas set of labels out now, so HO HO HO! There is the snowman and then the Christmas tree, next I don't know yet. But I won't be Scrooge and spoil it and say the brown labeled set is worth less. I think it is worth more down the road. I wish I could have got it I think it is terrific. Oh yes! I go by Eagles-R-it, not Eagles -R-fun, bu

Kennedy Halves

Circulated or uncirculated I need some help here from some Kennedy half collectors. I was under the assumption that after 2002 and including no halves were struck for circulation. I ask this because I got a few bank rolls to snoop through and nearly all were 2005 and 2008 with a few other dates from 2003 on up to 2009. A Kennedy half education is needed here. Thanks to anyone who can help. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.

Just catching up

Just thought I would try to catch up with folks.  I have been away for awhile as many of you know.  Health reasons.  My tests are finally in the normal + range.  But in February I had my 4th back surgery which left me much worse off than what I went in as.  But in July we got my next hobby to keep me waking up for something to do each day, being disabled and retired, in no particular order, and waiting for Mrs. to retire in 1 1/2 yrs. It is a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme with matching numbers

just called 3 more coming.

Don't believe it I had been called to let me know that the 3 silver eagle holders I had been waiting for were on their way. I had even sent photos of the 3 I was in need of. Now this is a very reputable coin supplier, I guess you know the rest of the story. They came today and yep you are right, they all were WRONG!!!! What the H-E- double toothpicks does it take to get what you ordered, especially when you send them pics and they said they had them on hand? HELP!!!!!! I am bonkers over

WHAT WOULD YOU CALL THIS? I have shown this cent before. Still, I like looking at it every now and then. Still trying to figure out just what happened to it and if it deserves a better look by NGC. I've done it!!

Filled it up I/we, my wife and I have completed the 2011 Eagles Set, Mint State competitive set. We have never been able to accomplish anything like this in our lives. I must say thanks to a few members and a few dealers who helped us get here. THANK YOU, you know who you are, and I know they did not want to share their names, and I respect that. Thanks to all the members who read my journal entries and have given advise, help etc, and those who scoffed, I say thanks because it made us work

I AM TICKLED

KENNEDY'S ON WAY HOME Hi everyone. I sent in two of the Kennedy silver 4 coin sets, and this afternoon I checked my invoice and they are done. Much to my surprise The one rev pf and one pf got a 69 and the two unc, which I thought would be a 69 each got a 70. So I am ticked. I have a complete set of 70s out of the 2 sets. I also sent in just for the heck of it 3 each of the clad 2 coin sets. One was a 68, 3-66, 1-67, and 1-65. I am happy though. I consider this a success. If I can, I

consecutive order? Hey everyone, I was going through some of my slabs to possibly put them up for sale and simply stumbled onto something that I feel the odds are uncalculatable. I pick out an Eagle coin, MS70 NGC. set it aside and was hehawing through some others that were of different grade, but NGC non the less. Well get this fellow members now remember, I bought these two coins about 6 months apart, and from 2 different companies and from two different parts of the country. One is a
