I really wonder if Mr. Taylor knows how good his NEW organization is? Does he care ?
Closed society? Nope, it's open to all who....Barbed wire? nothing bad about that
number one...all you closed society types need to revisit the definition of a society...a group of people with a common purpose who band together, make rules to govern their group and promise to live by those rules. those that are not willing to abide by the rules of the society are no longer members of that group and are normally called criminals. IF YOU WANT TO BELONG, THEN FOLLOW THE RULES. OTHERWISE WE H
I thought that we had settled this buy/sell issue...but with 150+ views on two for sale entries (pure for sale ads)...I guess that this has turned into an advertising venue
and if that was what I personally wanted I would join the boards...been nice knowing most of you...and good luck and good night
A JOYOUS MEMORIAL DAY..AND WISHES FOR MANY MORE. AND LET US NOT FORGET OUR FALLEN COMRADES IS WHATEVER CONFLICT
May this weekend find you in good health...or at least mobile, and our heartfelt best wishes to those not. To the families of our fallen and missing comrades, may your hearts be strong, and your paths as easy as possible. To my fellow Nam vets, may your dreams be silent, and your days filled with peace. To those now fighting and/or just returned, our thoughts are with you and con
I assume that your post was aimed at me mike...
and I gotta tell you ..the post was aimed at two posts that were here ealier, and have since been pulled by the watcher gods...they were both out and out advertisements for a sale, and I personally agree with you that this site is for our dreams, hopes, wishes, "oh I got that coin finally and the rest of what you said....and as far as trading slabs (.com)...I'm a member and want to thanks to Ron, such a site was long overdue

After all we are talking about Moderns here
My three cents worth (inflation don't u know) As a collector of Moderns coins..Sac's...SBA's....IKE's...and Memorial Cents, I do try to get the highest avalable grade...especially now when they're still cheap...If you project these coins out 50 to a hundred years..(when they will start to become hard to find?) will we still view that poor little pf68 as a throwaway or will some of the new collectors to our hobby be more that happy to get that coin a
did anyone see the article in N News
ICG is now holding grading seminars at major shows for the general public.....with their graders on site to explain the perceived differences in the higher grades. Now as much as I hate to say it, it would seem that Jim Taylor is getting a jump up on the rest of the competition....something to watch real close huh?

the one true consumer driven market
the numismactic field is one of if not the only truly consumer driven markets in fact. no matter what value a person puts on a coin, if there's not a consumer out there willing to pay that price, then the coin isn't worth that price. and as long as there are customers willing to pay the inflated price to get that PCGS slab...we will have the differential between the two. possible part of this is due to the snobbish attitude of PCGS that only allows their

had these for over a year
this was from some proof sets I sent in to grade last year:
1981-S 10c labeled a 1980-S 5c...im pr-69UC
2003-S SAC 1$ labeled a 2003-S silver 50c pr-69UC
2003-S 10c labeled a 2003-S 1$ pr-69UC
2003-S 50c labeled as 2003-s silver 10c pr-69UC
also a 2004-D handshake 5c labeled 2004-P ms-66
do you really thing someone will buy these ????
the public has discovered the SBA's as a great set to collect
and the price of SBA's are going up almost across the board. And some of the higher grades are becoing hard to find. Witness the 81-s and 99-d in higher grade MS. Makes me happy, as I love this series. I don't have the pictures of my set posted yet...but I will

Now I'm really wondering...a whole new catagory or a new set?
The mint has announced that starting this year all the mint sets will have a new finish for the contents....and going forward also. So will this mean we will have two catagorys of UNC Sac's etc. A MS-67 in normal Uncirculated, and a MS-6? in Sateen finish? Oh boy
NOT AS GOOD AS THE OLD ONE
I am very disappointed in the NEW ANACS of Mr. Taylor. I sent in 5 coins to be graded economy (21 days) rcvd by them on the 3rd of Jan. around the 1st of Feb. I called to check and see how they were doing...thus started a period of no answers and lies, that is worse than another of the grading parties (unnamed) I was told that the coins were still in pri-grading on the 7th of Feb. and then received assurances (five times) that someone would check on them and call
Champions Hall of Fame
after three years of being number one graduate them to a Champions Hall of Fame...special certificate and all...obscured sets should not be allowed period....defeats the whole purpose of this site...my opinion only....

pop report is misleading
The NGC Pop Report is I believe misleading in the case of the 1979 Wide Rim SBA as opposed to the Narrow Rim...the number of submissions for the two are heavily weighted towards the Wide Rim as they carry the premium...and as the other report that the wide rims compose about 45% of the totals....boy do I have a hard time with that one...having gone thru over $1400 of 79 SBA's and having only found 11...that don't seem to be 45%

I've been an addict for over 40 years
we need to start an NA...numismatists annonymous...just think of all those lost souls like us out there with no support group or apparatus to help them thru those many momments of weakness. Just think of all the coins that will be bought in momments of need or desire, and then the hours of joyous high as they gaze upon the lovelyness of that aquisition. help !!!!!
reason they were pulled
noticed last week or so that the canadian cent sets had been added...even pulled the ranking list...now I can't find them...major problem huh?
I have met Jim Taylor...impressed me
Met Mr. Taylor at the Boston show a year or so ago....must say I was impressed with his bearing and knowledge....have you seen the pictures of the new ANACS slabs? pure sex huh? The idea of a registry that accepts graded problem coins (in other words--ALL coins) is so appealing to me that I am sitting on the edge of my chair waiting the word. thanks for the heads up Mr. Mike Cooper
check out the serial numbers
does anyone else see the obvious differences in age of the grading of these two coins...the one on the left was an old slab me thinks
so ok, they're only peoples
to all of our fellow collectors...a merry christmas, a happy chanukah, and a happy hang over....NEW YEAR..(I never can get that right)...may you all find that number one coin that you want the most

in a cold and snowy Maine
at least you can get them to grade your coins
about month and half ago...I sent 200 memorial 1c's to be prescreened...now these were 200 coins i had already screened for bag marks and scuffs, good strikes etc. the grader sent them back...not enough to meet the 35% grading level...now true, I had sent them as min grade ms-66...but these were blaze reds w/out marks....ok...i got em back and rescreened to the best 100...lowered the min to ms-65...guess what....got em back today for not meeting 3
NGC TO GRADE AS SMS FOR THE FROSTED? MINT SETS
SO now that the decision has been made to give the mint sets the SMS designation...are we gonna see a new slot for them in the registry sets?
