Extremely Rare Straits Settlements Coin Featured in Hong Kong Sale

An extremely rare Straits Settlements Specimen is leading hundreds of coins certified Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) in an upcoming Spink auction in Hong Kong. Online bidding for the South East Asian Coins sale, being held November 6, 2021, is currently underway.

A Straits Settlements 1890H 50 Cents is one of two Specimens in the NGC Census, both graded NGC SP 62. It features a portrait of Queen Victoria, who ruled England and various territories from 1837 until her death in 1901. This fascinating rarity (lot 342) has an estimate of HK$250,000 to HK$350,000 (about $32,200 to $45,000 USD).
