PMG-certified Banknotes and NGC-certified Coins Highlight Sale in Malaysia

A PMG-certified note has the highest estimate of any numismatic rarity in the Trigometric auction in December.

World banknotes and coins certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) and coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation® (NGC®) are being featured in an upcoming Trigometric Auction in Malaysia on December 6, 2020. Online bidding is now open.

Straits Settlements 1925-27 100 Dollars Specimen graded PMG 30 Very Fine

The most anticipated banknote is a Straits Settlements 1925-27 100 Dollars Specimen graded PMG 30 Very Fine, with an estimate of RM95,000 to RM120,000 (about $23,000 to $29,500 USD). The rare Specimen features a prowling tiger centered below a portrait of King George V. It shows the signature of Sir Hayes Marriott, who was appointed as the 15th Colonial Secretary of the Straits Settlements in 1925.

Meanwhile, a Malaysia 1967 Proof Set (1 Sen to 50 Sen) graded from NGC PF 64 RB to NGC PF 68 Uncirculated has an estimate of RM6,000 to RM12,000 (about $1,475 to $3,000 USD). The set is part of the first series of Malaysian coins introduced in 1967.
