Conservation Showcase: 1921 Peace Dollar

Improper storage can allow ugly things to develop on beautiful coins. This 1921 Peace Dollar had developed a spotty yellow residue on both sides making a distracting impairment on an otherwise beautiful and white coin.
Careful removal of the unsightly yellow residue was able to be performed by the skilled conservators at NCS. After conservation, the coin was left with a pleasing white tone. This coin was able to grade numerically with NGC following the conservation
