NGC Registry Featured Set: Silver 10 Yuan Treasures

The Hong Kong International Numismatics Fair (HKINF) taking place in June is sure to have a great turnout. As mentioned in a recent NGC announcement, there will be 18,000 Silver Dragon coins exclusively available for sale at the show. This striking contemporary issue will make a powerful addition to the NGC Registry. There is already a spot just waiting for this Silver 10 Yuan coin! Our featured top-ranked set, carefully compiled by Russ736, has won “Best in Category” for a whopping eight years and counting! Russ has managed to achieve 90% completion thus far — no easy task — as the earliest coin in this set dates back over 20 years!

Achieving the coveted NGC 70 grade can be difficult in this series, as the perfect coins are hard to find and, in some cases, don’t exist. Russ has managed to acquire a few, including the 1996 45^th Aviation Anniversary coin. Two coins were issued in honor of the occasion. Russ736 boasts “Top Pop” for both coins, including the Nanchang CJ-5, graded NGC MS 70.

Russ has another lovely example with his 1993 Yin & Yang Philosophy piece graded NGC MS 70. Embracing the concept of opposing forces coexisting peacefully and complementing each other, the Yin and Yang philosophy is popular throughout Chinese culture and has been for generations.
