Stack's Bowers Galleries Offers Seldom-seen Chinese Gold Coin Certified by NGC

A fascinating selection of hundreds of rare Chinese coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company® (NGC®) is being offered by Stack's Bowers Galleries in their Hong Kong (SAR) Collectors Choice Online Auction: Chinese & Asian Coins. Bidding is already underway for Session 1, Session 2 and Session 3, which conclude June 23-25, 2025.
The top NGC-certified lot in the auction sessions is a China YR8(1919) 20 Dollars graded NGC MS 61 (Session 1, lot 31765), with an estimate of $50,000 to $100,000. This was the highest-denomination coin struck in the Republic era, part of an unrealized dream to get China back on the gold standard. NGC has certified a mere 22 examples of this seldom-seen coin.

- a China 1898 Kiangnan Silver Dollar graded NGC AU 55 (Session 1, lot 31301), with an estimate of $50,000 to $75,000
- a China 1905 Kirin Silver Dollar - Rosettes graded NGC MS 62 (Session 1, lot 31365), with an estimate of $10,000 to $20,000
- a China 1981 Brass Pattern Bronze Age 700 Yuan - Horse and Swallow graded NGC PF 68 Ultra Cameo (Session 2, lot 32203), with an estimate of $15,000 to $20,000
- a China 1981 Brass Pattern Bronze Age 350 Yuan - Horse and Swallow graded NGC PF 68 Ultra Cameo (Session 2, lot 32204), with an estimate of $15,000 to $20,000
- a China Kwangtung Silver Dollar graded NGC MS 63 (Session 1, lot 31376), with an estimate of $8,000 to $12,000
- a China 1983 Gold 150 Yuan Lunar Series - Pig graded NGC PF 69 Cameo (Session 2, lot 32157), with an estimate of $6,000 to $8,000
- an Indonesia 1970 Gold 20,000 Rupiah - Garuda Bird graded NGC PF 61 Ultra Cameo (Session 3, lot 33282), with an estimate of $5,000 to $7,000
