Posted on 8/31/2023
An impressive selection of European coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company® (NGC®) is now being offered in the Antykwariat Numizmatyczny Michal Niemczyk auction. Bidding is already underway for the sale, which is scheduled for September 16, 2023.
The top NGC-certified coin in this auction is a Poland 1733 Taler graded NGC MS 61+ (lot 128), which has a starting price of 130,000 PLN (about $31,000). Augustus II ruled as king of Poland from 1697 to 1706 and again from 1709 until his death in 1733. His coins with the butterfly motif are a mystery to scholars, as there is no particular theory prevailing as to why they were struck.
