Certified Collectibles Group and eBay will work together to explore the global collectibles market.

A signing ceremony of strategic cooperation between eBay, the global e-commerce leader, and Certified Collectibles Group (CCG), a leading collectible authentication and grading service, was held in Shanghai. eBay and CCG announced their comprehensive cooperation on multiple collectible categories in order to explore global market opportunities.

The global collectibles market is thriving as the art and collectibles industries continue to expand. The collectibles marketplace in China has gradually grown to a scale of $100 billion, which is attracting more companies to participate in this market. The strategic cooperation between eBay and CCG aims to utilize the considerable resources of both companies to develop in-depth collaboration in the field of authentication for cards, coins and comics. It is meant to enhance the international market recognition of collectibles from China, assist domestic collectors to turn their hobby into a career, explore opportunities in the global market for collectibles and support the export of Chinese collectibles as well as cultural and creative industries.

Present at the event where the collaboration was announced were Tao Pang, General Manager of Category and Sales of eBay Greater China; Meng Fei, Category Manager of eBay Greater China; Yongjun Zhou, Sales Director of eBay East China Region; and Mateo Zhao, Vice President of Business Development in Asia of CCG. Zhao announced that CCG’s collaboration with eBay will help Chinese collectors upgrade their transaction experience.

“Collectibles have always been an advantageous category on the eBay platform with strong growth. eBay is also an important platform that allows Chinese collectible enthusiasts to participate in global trade,” said Pang. “Through the cooperation with CCG, we hope to enhance global buyers' recognition of collectibles from China, increase buyers' confidence, and make eBay the preferred trading platform for Chinese collectible enthusiasts. We would like to gather more Chinese collectible enthusiasts, explore more high-value collectibles, accelerate sellers' business growth and help Chinese collectibles, as well as the cultural and creative industries, to go overseas."

“We have observed that global transactions of collectibles are rapidly shifting from traditional offline channels to the online ones. This shift cannot be separated from the continuous promotion of certification services,” said Zhao. “The cooperation between CCG and eBay is greatly valued. Through our professional certification and grading services, we can provide buyers more confidence and protection in order to help China's thriving collectibles market to take advantage of broader opportunities."

In addition, a roundtable forum with the theme of "Cross-border Opportunities for Collectibles to Go Overseas" was also held. The guest speakers shared and discussed the relevant situation and development prospects of the collectible market. This event attracted wide attention from the media, including Shouxi.com, a platform and media outlet of the collectibles industry, who was invited to attend and witness this significant moment.

Shouxi.com believes that based on the strategic cooperation, eBay and CCG will jointly explore an innovative development path for China's collectibles industry through eBay's powerful global business platform and CCG's professional collectibles-related supporting services. The domestic collectibles market could embrace more opportunities for global business and meet the diversified needs of collectibles enthusiasts. Not only is the strategic cooperation significant to eBay and CCG, but it also marks a step forward in the development of China's collectibles industry toward the international market.
