Description & Analysis
1925(P) dimes are common in worn condition, though problem-free examples grading XF or AU are rather elusive. The values of these grades remain low, however, due to the good availability of coins in the lower Mint State grades. Gems are very elusive.
In his book The Complete Guide to Mercury Dimes, David W. Lange wrote of this issue: "Philadelphia Mint dimes of the 1920s are, as a rule, fairly well struck. The 1925(P) is an exception. Although full band coins are not great rarities, nearly all coins of this date display an overall softness, both centrally and peripherally."
