The edge is reeded.


The only reeded edge Large Cent. This unique die marraige is found only with reeded edge; the obverse die was used only in this variety. The reverse die was also used for six different varieties of 1796 Draped Bust cents.

The most coveted of all the numbered Sheldon vareiteis, just nine examples are known today. Two NGC-certified coins are show here. At top is the Newcomb-Hines-Sheldon specimen. The second example shown is the House of Davis McKinney specimen.
