Description & Analysis

While the Carson City Mint struck over 2.2 million Morgan dollars in 1878, only 97,000 Trade dollars were issued by the same mint that year. Most of the Trade dollars seemed to have ended up in circulation, as evidenced by the NGC Census which only shows a mere seven examples higher than MS63(06/19).
