Description & Analysis

This date had the lowest mintage of quarter dollars from the Philadelphia Mint since the recession year of 1921, though it is still common in all grades through MS 64. There are enough gems to meet the demand from advanced collectors, and a fair percentage of these have the desirable Full Head designation. Of course, some FH coins are lacking detail in other areas, most notably the left side of the shield and adjacent features of Liberty's gown. The discriminating collector should hold out for a coin that is well struck overall.
