Description & Analysis

Though industrial production tapered off after the Armistice of 1918, America's economy was still robust enough for another year or two that coinage figures from the Philadelphia Mint remained high through 1920. In fact, the 1920(P) quarter dollar nearly doubled the next highest mintage figure for this coin type. Despite the tremendous attrition through date loss, this issue remains fairly common across all but the highest grades. There are many gems, though Full Head details are elusive. There are fewer well struck coins than for the other high mintage issues immediately preceding, but a bit of patience will secure a nice specimen.
