Description & Analysis

The 1907-D double eagle was produced in only the second year of production at the Denver mint. Because of this, it is a very popular date.

With a mintage of over 840,000, it is not a particularly rare issue, but it was well produced and the coins are usually attractive. Gems of this date are more common than most, likely due to the aforementioned reasons.
