The NGC Universal ID is a four digit alphanumeric that groups coins based on a unique combination of date, mintmark, denomination and striking process (MS, PF, or SP). These IDs are a simple organization of all coins prior to variety attribution and grading.
While the 1907-D cannot be considered an absolute rarity among late-date twenty Libs, it is an issue that has a transcendent appeal to a wide range of collectors. The Denver mint opened the previous year, this being the second year of issue as well as the final year for the long-lived Longacre design (first struck for commercial usage in 1850). In addition to being of importance to collectors of Denver coinage and to type collectors, the 1907-D is also one of the better produced and most attractive coins of the Type Three design.
