Description & Analysis

In 1892, the Carson City Mint struck 40,000 gold eagles, which is actually the second highest mintage for any Carson City eagle. However, most of those coins were placed into circulation or exported for circulation elsewhere. That makes this coin a serious conditional rarity, with most coins grading in the low-to-mid AU range. MS61 is easily the most commonly seen uncirculated grade.
