NGC and PMG Remain Open and Fully Operational >
The NGC Universal ID is a four digit alphanumeric that groups coins based on a unique combination of date, mintmark, denomination and striking process (MS, PF, or SP). These IDs are a simple organization of all coins prior to variety attribution and grading.
The 1877 has a tantalizingly low mintage of 3,900 business strikes. Although anything but common in an absolute sense, this issue is not as rare as either the 1876 or the 1878, and we are aware of a small group of MS66 representatives in today's hobby.
