Description & Analysis

Only 6,200 business strikes and 50 proofs were produced of the 1863 gold dollar, and probably no more than 50 business strikes are believed known today in all grades. An understandably elusive coin, the 1863 is also one of the rarest P-mint gold dollars in Mint State.
