Description & Analysis

This JR-1 variety is invariably seen with a die break at the first star to the left of the date, yet this remarkable coin was struck before that almost immediate injury to the die. The absence of a die break is just one of several qualities which distinguish this fabulous dime as a Specimen striking. It is also fully struck in all details and perfectly centered within the dies. As such it is an extreme rarity and probably unique.
