The NGC Universal ID is a four digit alphanumeric that groups coins based on a unique combination of date, mintmark, denomination and striking process (MS, PF, or SP). These IDs are a simple organization of all coins prior to variety attribution and grading.
The American economy faltered briefly in 1907, due in part, to some problems in the New York financial district. Among others, well known illustrator Charles Dana Gibson lost his massive fortune when his New York bank failed. However, these difficulties proved short-lived, and within a short time, the economy was back on course making strong gains early in the next decade, and going into high gear after 1914 when America began furnishing materials to the war effort in Europe.
