Currently graded MS 64, hoping for a 65 re-grade.

Very nice coin, it's a great example of the 1949 dollar  Are you crossing it to NGC or trying again at PCGS?

Gotcha.....from my experience, it's rare for PCGS graded Canadian coins to get an upgrade at NGC, but it's not impossible.  I'd say worst case scenario, you're solid at 64 based on the photos.  Best of luck, though!

I am new to the forums so if this is in the wrong place feel free to direct me elsewhere.

I love to metal detect and I found this item recently. I have done a little research and think it may be a hammered lead coin (the weight sure feels like lead). Any help with this would be great.

The loop looks modern and the hole is rather ragged and not cut straight.

Nice find, but I don't know what it is.

Maybe you'll get more response by making a new thread on "US, World and Ancient Coins" forum.

I'd say that you had some very nice pickups there!  I really love the Bolivian piece.....that has a great look but the others are really sharp, too.  Thanks for sharing those!

Both grading services are too hard on 1949 dollars. They do come nice but that's no reason to limit the grade. That's easily a MS65 coin, even 66 with luster is not out of the question. It's virtually mark free.
