Oh, you son of a *&^%$.

I was watching that one and waiting for my paycheck, and when I went to buy it it was gone.

Congrats on a nice pickup, at a great price.

There are four graded SP68 from the same dealer submission...You may not have lost out! I purchased this one Jan 4th from France.

This is not a new coin to me, but I did have it regraded from an ICG (PF68DCAM) holder to an NGC holder (PF66), which I do believe it the proper grade.  The coin is an extremely rare Belgian Congo/Democratic Republic of Congo 1965 silver 100 Francs piece, which is far rarer than it's gold counterparts.  In nearly 20 years this is the only example that I have found, and I am always on the hunt.  If you ever find another one or one of the other denominations in silver, please let me know.

Greetings one and all,

Here is an American Numismatic Association 100th Anniversary "Salute to the ANA" 1891-1991 .999 Fine Silver Medal from the British Royal Mint.  I believe this is one of their finest coins.  The both proud American Eagle and the British Lion make the coin look very majestic.  JMHO.

After many years of hunting down this coin I was finally successful. It came back from NGC as AU55.

It's a German/Brunswick mining Thaler from 1685. It weighs 78g and is stamped on the reverse as a "3" Thaler coin.

Beautiful pieces everyone!

I'll show my most recent world coin.....kind of an odd purchase for this US Collector, but it spoke to me. Just bought it at the Long Beach coin show a few weeks ago.

Here is one I bought several months ago, but just now managed to dig it back out of the safe for a photo session. The color is smashing....these pics are very true to life!

Start a new thread and tell us all about this coin. I'm intrigued.

A few posts above I showed a Japanese coin I bought from a European auction house.  This is a European coin (Albania) from a Japanese auction that arrived recently.

Life is weird in world coin collecting.  It's actually the second 'difficult' Albanian coin I've found in Japan, which makes me wonder about a Japanese collector of Albanian coins.
