The marks and toning on the 96 bother me. I prefer white but the 96-O is SO tough to find in MS. Popular Post Truly Clean Posted February 16 Popular Post Share Posted February 16 II filled a BIG HOLE today! 1893-S Morgan in XF45. I was SO nervous this had shipped USPS. I am thrilled with this! I got it online from SG Rare Coins in Hawthorne, NJ. Danielle there was great to work with. My next best Morgan is an MS64 1892-CC, so this one was certainly a stretch for me. I wanted the best I could for the 93-S. Now I only have 2 holes to fill: 89-CC and 93-CC. My registry is still missing a few images, but I do have 97 coins . I don't think I'm doing some of the specialties such as overdates and overmintmarks. Any thoughts on that? A quantity of 55,000 pieces went back to the Treasury Department, which placed the coins into circulation. Designed by George T. Morgan chief engraver of the mint, used designs suggested by Dr. John Baer Stoudt. Distributed by The National Huguenot-Walloon New Netherland Commission, Inc., Rev. John Baer Stoudt, director. Approved by Congress on February 26, 1923 and issued in commemoration of the three hundredth anniversary of the settling of New Netherland, the Middle States, in 1624, by Walloons, French and Belgian Huguenots, under the Dutch West India Company.
