Think this is better?

Immeasurably better.  But I am biased.  I am partial to well-sculpted copper. And this one appears to have been minted before there was a Mint.  Great piece!

I seriously doubt I have seen a finer III-cent specimen at anytime, anywhere in the past fifty years. In fact, I never knew the three I's were, for lack of the proper term, "fluted" much like a column. The biggest mystery is why this coin did not qualify for a higher grading, particularly with the flawless reverse. Does not such a reverse deserve at least a plus (+)?

I looked for a while and this one stood out so I had to have it. The only negative is the small delaminated area under the date. If it wasn’t for that I think it would go higher.

I was more concerned about the muted letters in LIBERTY and a lady bug, or perhaps the head of a praying mantis protruding from the top of the first "I". I don't know if "delaminated" is the correct term used to describe the condition bedeviling the area beneath the date but I will graciously defer to those members whose knowledge of  surface havoc greatly exceeds my own. Aside:  The next time I receive a solicitation in the mail describing a coin as "sure to sit at the pinnacle of your impressive Registry Set," or "perfect for high-end collection/Registry Set," I will think of your magnificent gem. You, sir, are a Contender!  Yes, with a capital C.

Today’s arrival for my type set. This is going to be quite the journey for many years, but I am loving it.

I was very happy to add this one to my GW set. I love the rim toning that goes completely around the whole coin. It is one of my favorites in the set so far. 1948 S ms 66. Polish_20210429_105718435.thumb.jpg.26b464c5c38c4f805984e4a8d9df157a.jpgPolish_20210429_105808104.jpg.ecac61eabb1f99ad6c9c9a20ad0c69e2.jpg

Another nice rim toner! I know you love those

@Mr.Bill347 - No offense intended, but that Kennedy out of Frisco never looked better -- and at that price, can't be beat! I like the even wear and fine denticle work on the '09.

Well it was a light meeting day today so I decided to fill some of the minor spots in the type set. The mail man will need over time the next week or so 😂
