On the 1963 D penny it should always have a close AM correct

Hopefully, seasoned veteran member Coinbuf will see and respond to your query.  I saw a mention somewhere that a '63-D PCGS-GRADED at MS-67 was sold for over $14,000 but no reference was made to the positioning of the letters A and M.

1959-1991 reverses should all have the same AM

Close/Wide AM varieties did not occur until 1992.  The mint made a new CAM reverse for use starting in 1993, but some CAMs were struck in 92.  In 1994, the used the old WAM reverse for Proofs.  They mixed up a few in 1998-2000.

I found the information here.  Good site to bookmark.

Wrong.

Between1959 and 1991 they were all WAM

It was not until1992 that the first Cam was introduced.

No such thing as a close or wide AM in the early memorial cent production, as noted above the wide/close issue did not become a thing until 1992.
