Acquired several of these while I was in Afghanistan 1973-1977. Anyone have an idea as to origin or period of history they belong to? 1.5 cm wide .5 cm thick, appears copper composite weight approx. 2 grams Thanks

Yeah. It's not ancient. The bottom photo looks upside down. This type was common around the 1600s, Mughal Empire, AE half dams. They're interesting albeit not terribly rare. There are quite a few varieties.
