Does the 1882 O/S Morgan exist in a number of different overstrikes? What is the background of these? How many diffferent strikes are there? How do they differ? Are each of the different strikes valued similarly? What are the populations of the several strikes?

There are three 1882-O/S varieties: VAM-3 (Flush S), VAM-4 (Recessed S) and VAM-5 (Broken S). Judging by NGC's Census, they appear to be of approximately equal rarity. Indeed, they are valued about the same in the Top-100 VAM book.
