Found what appears to be heavy doubling in several areas of this coin Very pronounced in “In God We Trust”, the mint Mark, off the profile of the face and in Liberty. Still new to this sonI think this is doubling but wanted opinions and comments.

I think everyone is afraid to say it looks like it because it is unlikely, but I’ll be the dummy. Even with modern processes of hubbing it can happen.  I’m going to say it looks awfully suspicious if it isn’t doubled. Clearly split serifs. I don’t see any copper core exposed from the pics so probably isn’t split plate doubling. Could be MD but it looks like the real deal. I’ll jump out and be the first to say it looks like it and hopefully some of the heavy hitters will chime in. Im very curious myself

My money is on MD, its a very dramatic example and cool from that standpoint but still MD.   No matter I would save that one, its cool.

Ya it looks real cool. But it is hard to say for sure. I find I have to look at the new coins from so many different angles the reflections play tricks with the microscope.

Can the OP take better photos of obverse and reverse? Uniform lighting, better (lower) contrast, etc.

More pictures best I can do with this camera. Added another area of interest on this coin. In the area of the mouth there appears to be small object, maybe a piece of wire that appears to be imbedded in the metal9E4F44E1-B422-4E77-BAFE-5658AAC132CE.thumb.jpeg.6a08b0e5669ae787a31de7f2e10b21f5.jpeg5BA1DA82-0D07-4027-9289-AC1276903742.thumb.jpeg.2c63e4351b39cca7ae092f9616a9614a.jpegFFD35C2E-FBE3-45DA-835A-2D7A365C5294.thumb.jpeg.68c05b34627aab82d66a74d089f1aa84.jpeg

We need to figure out a way for you to get some better pics. If you have a. iPhone they work amazingly well. And you can crop down once the pic is taken to show detail. I’m genuinely curious but afraid without better pics no one will be able to help much. Regardless I would put that coin in a 2x2 until you can get better pics. It’s interesting regardless of what the issue is.
