It is hard to tell for sure from your pictures, but it looks like the coin has been exposed to high heat. It can cause bubbling like that and could account for the blackened color.

You asked for opinions and have received them. Here’s one more that the coin is damaged, not an error and worth 25 cents.
If you want to waste money on postage and shipping, that’s your choice. But if you’re going to ignore everyone who tells you what you don’t want to hear, there’s no point in asking for opinions.

Of course it does, that is because the coin was struck normally before the heat caused the surface to bubble!
