Not sure why you're calling it a special proof. It looks like an Ike that may have encountered some bad hazing and someone tried dipping it off.

The G in Frank Gasparro’s initials is actually sunken behind the seraph as it loops behind the center and back behind finishing off the hyphen.

One of the attributes to this coin is a very dark copper core. Here it is:

 

“Greater visibility of the copper core on the edge of the special proof coin...”

The blades are raised up more with crisper trapezoid like edges on the special strike, versus the flat edges of a regular proof strike.
