Hi,

I have many coins with "York PA" on it

Some are proof and look like silver and some are bronze etc.

Then there is a coin in a box which says "United States Capitol Historical Society" and the 1978 national medal ( one silver and one bronze)

So my question is, What are those coins, does it have any value, if yes how much?

And are the silver looking coins really silver?

I am attaching the coins that have a silver color and are  proof

Those are not coins, they are medallions produced by a third party. I imagine the only value they would have is the silver content. Perhaps one of our members familiar with tokens and medallions could give more information.

The "fetish" for striking commemorative medals that was nationwide in the 1970's and 1980's still hangs on pretty well in South Central Pennsylvania. Perhaps the quintessential example is the Red Rose Coin Club of Lancaster, PA. Still striking annual medals now, which started in 1966 or 1968, I believe.
