This one stings.  Van Halen was the first concert I ever went to.  Stood out in the Minnesota winter cold all night in line all night just to be able to purchase tickets when the box office opened.  (Our younger members may not know of a time before TicketMaster and other online ticket brokers lol.)   This was back in 1984.  Great concert, and one of the best guitarists.  RIP Eddie.

Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and just when you thought all sounds were covered, along comes Eddie Van Halen with another new twist on sound. A great performer. RIP.

My mother was also born in 1955 and passed almost exactly 3 years ago from a ruptured undiagnosed brain aneurysm. 

This time of year is always difficult, and I always notice when other deaths are reported of persons who were born in 1955.  Gone too soon.  RIP.
