Let's go at this from a different approach. From what you see here, what would be your guess about this coin? No judgement.

A couple of neat things: It is from a country, Malaya, which no longer exists. Most of what was Malaya is PART of West Malaysia. Some islands get in there too, and Singapore. On British coinage, all that "Emperor of India" language gets really seriously abbreviated. And "King" of what, where? Obviously, being the Emperor of India meant more to 1939 Malaya than being King of England did. Politics by coinage.
