? About a 1972 Indian Head Penny 0

Hi,

I have a 1972 Indian Head penny not in the best condition but it has an interesting color, but only on the observe side. 

I was wondering why? Is it because it wasn’t sealed?

It was cleaned at some time in the recent past, the pink color is how I know that.
