Toning Coins

Yes, however its impossible to know if this has been done intentionally or by accident; say when gramps forgot about those coins in the sock bin.

I have a couple quarters and nickels that I folded in some cheap hotel cardboard while out east, to protect them because they were the first 2017-P I had encountered. A few months later they had picked up some golden and steel blue subtle toning, so I left them in there. 3 years later I think they're in a terminal state now, i.e. it hasn't changed for a long time. I suppose the cardboard is done outgassing sulphur or whatever it was.

I have coins intentionally stored in environments that I hope will induce beautiful toning.  It does work.

It will probably induce toning, whether or not that toning will be "beautiful", is still a matter of luck.
