Hey there, this coin has me thrown off a little. Its really corroded and damaged. I know they didn't make proofs in the Denver mint. But this one is very odd, almost looks like shiny gold but not. I have the understanding that they made poorly strikes in the 60s. When I rotate the coin in the light almost mirrored like. Or could this have been a experimental thing. It also weighs 2.78 if thats anything to beware of. Hmmm.

It could be either corrosion or has had an acid bath which would account for the lighter weight.

It's probably been cleaned or polished  which is why it looks shiny.

I don't t think there were any experimental coins in 1964.

Thank you greenstang, I was wondering. But that makes a whole lot of better cents. Lol. Cool, on to my haunting.😁
