We found this in a piggy bank. Can anyone tell me about the rim. It's mushroomed around the lettering. Was it stuck in the machine? Or what is it. Sorry the images are not the best but hoping they are good enough to start.

Hard to tell, picture too out of focus seeing the details on the coin.

Doubt it is an error though, probably some sort of Deterioration or doubling.

Pictures still a little out of focus but it looks like it may be Die Deterioration Doubling which is not an error.

I think most people consider real die doubling to be a variety, not an error. Since it's on the die, it would have produced more than one coin with the same features, hence a variety. People often mistake MD (mechanical or machine doubling), or die deterioration doubling, for die doubling. MD and DDD are very common and don't add value.
