Coin_Questions
I was digging through a drawer and found this coin. I wasn't able to find anything like it online, and I'm unsure if it's an error coin or a slug. Its about as thick as a penny and dime, and feels somewhat lighter than a penny (I dont have any scales fine enough to accurately measure its weight). Before contacting any appraisers and spending anything, I wanted to get some second opinions on what it could be. Heres an imgur link containing pictures of it, alongside a side comparison to a penny, quarter, and dollar coin - https://m.imgur.com/a/jaXATVM

Frank dabank
I would say yes. Can't tell by the picture as well but it looks to be a nickel struck on a quarter in clad on obverse. Triple struck on reverse. But I'm not a professional just my opinion. What does it weigh? Edited December 25, 2019 by Frank dabank
kbbpll
Looks like someone just took a copper cent and pounded it flat. It's not round and I'm having trouble picturing how the mint could have produced it.
Greenstang
It certainly isn't an error. Just some PMD. There is no way that would even fit in the collar of a coin being struck.
Coin_Questions
Appreciate the responses - not sure what could've led to this if it is some damage. Will take it to a local appraiser in person to get a more final opinion since the pictures arent of sufficient quality. Cheers, and happy holidays
Frank dabank
Please let us know what the local says on this. What where the weights again. As no one could make an accurate call to anythjng of it without that information.
