BIE cud error. I'm shocked I found one.

Yes, that's a BIE. These were a huge deal in the 1960s, when there were books cataloging all the known examples and even a BIE club.

The cause was simply poor quality control at the mints during the '50s, and today there's no added value for these flaws. They're still fun to collect.

Nice find but if your marking your 2x2, it's not a cud, it's a die chip known as a BIE die chip. A cud involves the rim of a coin.
