1951 Nickel question 0

I have a 1951 nickel that has an error (filled in) 5 in date. Not sure if this would be deterioration or an actual error. Can't imagine it being deterioration when the top of the 5 looks like it was squished at time of minting, but could use a little help from people more knowledgeable than I. I'm still a novice.    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Notice the top of the 1 and 9 exhibit the same squishing and marks moving left to right.  This was all damaged later in life but not at the time of minting.

That would depend on you.  There's no real value to it numismatically and you could get a mint state 1951 for less than $3 probably.
